There are so many products and brands out there on the market right now and I just love discovering new favourites that don’t cost the earth. I thought I’d mix up my usual ‘monthly favourites’ and share with you some of my ultimate drug store loves. I’ve either discovered these products in April or I’ve fallen back in love with them this month.
I would also LOVE to know how an earth we’re in May? How can that be! The year is just wizzing by but I’m having great fun living it.
Makeup Revolution – Concealer
We’ve all heard the reviews and never ending love for the Tarte shape tape concealer, but I’ve discovered an equally jaw dropping drug store alternative – makeup revolution! I’m totally in love and for £4 I literally can’t complain. The texture, colour and coverage is amazing. I can’t see myself trading this beauty in any time soon. It actually took me three attempts to purchase this concealer because everyone wants it.
Benefit – Hoola Contour Stick
I’ve had a love hate relationship with cream based contour products for a while now. When they work the results are always amazing, but I have struggled to find a product that is consistently good. I came across the Benefit contour stick from Manny Mua’s YouTube channel and have been really impressed. The product is really creamy and blends out really well (a common problem I’ve found with contour creams). It was £25, but if you’re looking for a good quality contour product I’d definitely recommend this one.
Soap and Glory – Archery Brow
I find eyebrow products are a funny thing. As everyone tends to do their eyebrows differently and with so many varying hair colours it can sometimes be difficult to find a ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to reccomendations. One product I know tonnes of people love, including myself is the archery brow by soap and glory. They have a pretty good colour selection and the product applied really easy. I find it so much quicker to do my brows when using this product.
Real Techniques – Beauty Blender
In the past 12 months I’ve really fallen out of love with sponges for make up application. I’ve increased my brush collection and can’t go anywhere without my Morphe Y11 brush, however… I repurchased my trustee Real Techniques beauty blender and have really been loving it again this month. I much prefer it for applying concealer compared to a brush. It’s always a good softness for a brush too; sometimes I just find beauty blenders too hard or soft and it really impacts application.
Maybelline – Fitme Powder
my usual go to for finishing powder is my trustee Laura Mercier, recently however I’ve been branching out and trying some new products. I’ve always been slightly sceptical of “budget” powders as I’ve always had questionable experiences with them. This Maybelline finishing power is in a complete league of its own when it comes to drug store. The finish is fantastic and it does a beautiful job of blurring my skin, whilst keeping it all in place – all day long!
Not tonnes this month, but enough to give you some cheeky recommendations and maybe freshen up your make up bag for less? As always, thank you so much for reading my blog! I’ve been working really hard on new ideas and I hope you’re enjoying the content!
