I have always been a big believer is taking time out of your week to work on yourself. Whether that be having a relaxing bath or doing something that you love, it’s good practise to learn that you need to look after yourself.
When I am feeling especially tired or worn out from a busy week I love to have a bath and put on a face mask to shut out any external stresses. Some bath salts and a candle can fix so much. Plus a hot cuppa of tea of course!
I partially love my Coconut candle and Love + Hope bath soak! But I have use lots of different types of products, I especially love smelly aroma therapy bath products. They always make my skin feel really detoxed and relax my muscles. Nothing better than feeling chilled out after a nice bath.
This blog isn’t just about relaxing though. What I mean when I say you need to take time for yourself is, i think it’s important to identify what areas of your life you enjoy. If you have a passion or a hobby it’s very easy to put it aside when life gets busy. It’s so important though to keep a track of how much time you put into these things and set aside some hours in your week to work on yourself.
I am very much into my exercise and when I don’t get in the right amount I can always feel other things impacting me more than usual. So if you have something that helps you destress make sure you plan it in like you schedule in everything else in your life.
This can include spending money on yourself! Honestly I don’t struggle with treating myself and if I’m truthful I could probably stop a few cheeky purchases! But I have definitely been experienced feeling super guilty when I buy myself something or having to justify to others why I bought it. Sometimes it’s a good thing to treat yourself! If you have a lipstick you love or a perfume you can’t live without its totally ok to look after yourself and treat yourself to the things you enjoy. I say this because getting yourself nice things is sometimes a way people feel great and it easy to feel bad if you don’t think you deserve it. I’m here to tell you… buy the shoes, grab the lipstick and go for the dinner. You’re not doing it all the time so don’t feel hard on yourself for getting yourself something you enjoy.
So in a round about way the point of this blog is to make sure everyone reading knows how important it is to dedicate time for yourself. Whatever it is that makes you happy, make sure you do it enough to keep you stress free.
Self care is so important and it sometimes gets set aside so I think it’s always good to have some positive reinforcement that it’s definitely something you should be prioritising.
Let me know what you like to do in your spare time!
Thanks for reading, I’m still pretty new to this so I’m grateful for any comments I receive.
